You are an accumulation of all your individual experiences to date; each affecting you in some way. It is these experiences that you draw upon to deal with the many situations Life throws your way. Maybe it is something you have seen someone else do; perhaps it is something you yourself have done and has worked for you in the past… Whatever it is, you are always reacting.
Are you dealing with a situation in the most beneficial way for yourself?
What is the result you want to achieve?
Is the result that you want to achieve, the result that you should be aiming for?
When someone breaks your heart, you question whether you did all you can to make the relationship work.
If you had done certain things differently, would the outcome have been different?
Would they still be with you?
Will you ever be able to find somebody as good as them?
Will anyone else ever make you feel the same way?
Will someone else make them feel better than you made them feel?
Your mind can create powerful imagery and stories, especially when you are driven by such strong emotions.
Whilst all these visions are revolving around in your head consuming you, it is imperative to remember that we are humans;
the swing of emotions we go through vary all the time.
At times you feel positive, at other times you feel low.
Sometimes you feel like you’re over it, other times you consider whether you have fallen even deeper into the realm of sorrow….
But accept that this will be the case and you will start to understand yourself a little better.
Accept that you will have your highs and your lows.
The strategy is simple:
Focus on having as many highs as possible.
I’d rather have a happy life with sad moments, than a sad life with happy moments.
